Established in 1996, Ellis Trading LLC is in the business of trading Point of Sale systems after the initial installation. While we do sell some new equipment our primary focus is in buying and reselling registers that have previously been installed in stores. Our main point of emphasis is Fujitsu Point of Sale and Epson Retail Printers. We have also dealt in IBM/Toshiba and NCR systems.
Most retailers will keep the same system installed between seven and ten years, long after the original manufacturer has stopped selling them new. We stock tested equipment for as long as a retailer will continue to use a particular system. In some cases longer than fifteen years from the original manufacture. There is a cost savings over new equipment but more importantly the equipment is available for expansion and spares. So the retailer can get the maximum use out of the system prior to investing into a new platform.
Ellis Trading acquires the equipment from the same retail base. The systems become available for a variety of reasons. Bankruptcy, acquisitions, store closings and over stock are some of the common ways.
All of the equipment we sell can be repaired via depot repair service.
Due to the nature of our business, we can buy from and sell to the same retailer, making us a valuable resource and partner.
